Scripture Reference: Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me.”
Excuses are subtle thieves. They rob us of progress, influence, and credibility. In leadership,
excuses often sound reasonable — “I don’t have enough time,” “I don’t have the right
resources,” or “I’m not ready yet.” But excuses are rarely about circumstances; they are about perspective.
When Moses stood before God at the burning bush, he offered excuses: “I’m not eloquent,”
“They won’t listen to me.” Yet God’s response was simple: “I will be with you.” Excuses reveal where we lack trust in God’s sufficiency.
Marketplace Application:
Excuses erode trust. A leader who consistently makes excuses loses credibility with their
team.
Excuses block innovation. When you say “we can’t,” you close the door to creative
solutions.
Excuses limit Kingdom impact. God calls us to be salt and light, not to shrink back.
Katalyst Challenge: Identify one area where you’ve been making excuses. Replace it with a
faith-filled action step this week.
